Like many top consumer brands, Specialty Formula ^Rx is concerned with unauthorized distributors attempting to make free baby formula claims. TRICARE does not allow free infant formula based on how much a baby consumes each month. However, TRICARE may cover out of pocket expenses for children that have a medical need only through contracted durable medical equipment (DME) companies.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING FRAUDULENT SOCIAL MEDIA POSTINGS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

If you have seen a social media post or test with language like the following, this is a fraudulent communication:

“Due to recent baby formula shortages, is the U.S. military health care program Tricare shipping free baby formula to Tricare beneficiaries, based on how much the baby consumes each month?”

The information in the viral post is misleading: Only a small number of babies who have a medical need because of a metabolic disorder -- and a doctor's order to receive a special type of baby formula -- would be eligible for the nutritional therapy through Tricare.

These activities appear to be designed to obtain personal or financial information, including credit card information. Social media accounts, emails, texts and other communications other than those under the Specialty Formula ^Rx name, no matter how similar, are not affiliated with us, and this activity is not authorized by TRICARE, us, or for our benefit. Please be advised that Specialty Formula ^Rx does not request personal information, financial information, account numbers, IDs, or passwords on social media. Should you see any of these accounts or receive any communications from persons using these accounts or other accounts that are similar to but not the same as ours, or making claims of free formula through TRICARE, we recommend that you do not respond, do not follow any links provided and do not click on any attachments.
